Born and raised in Lahore, Pakistan, Dr. Butt completed his residency and fellowship training in gastroenterology at the SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, NY. After completion of his GI fellowship, Dr. Butt worked in the Digestive Disease Institute at Cleveland Clinic for two years. Dr. Butt holds board certifications for both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology.
Dr.Butt’s clinical focus is on pancreaticobiliary diseases, especially the diagnosis, staging and treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies. He is trained in ERCP, EUS and advanced therapeutic endoscopy. His research interests focus on benign and malignant pancreaticobiliary diseases. He and his wife Kiran are proud parents of two children. During his free time, he enjoys reading, spending time with family, watching football, learning about different cultures and traveling.
