Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Rachael Weigle is a trained Internist and Gastroenterologist.  She earned her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia in 2018.  She completed Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of North Carolina – Blue Ridge hospital in Morganton, North Carolina in 2021 and 2024, respectively.  She was the chief gastroenterology fellow in 2024 and received numerous awards during graduate medical education, including resident and fellow of the year. 

Dr. Weigle has published numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and her research work has been presented in national conferences.

Dr. Weigle’s clinical interests include colon cancer screening, esophageal and stomach diseases, and IBD. She also has a keen interest in women’s gastrointestinal health.  She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Weigle enjoys spending time with her young family, including wrangling two wily toddlers at the beach.
