Gastroenterologist

As a Mississippi native, Dr. Edwards attended Jones College and William Carey University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.  During his undergraduate years, he served as the president of the Phi Theta Kappa Honors College and graduated with honors from both institutions.
 
In 2015, he began medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).  At UMMC, he received multiple scholarships and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society (AOA) before completing his Doctor of Medicine (MD).  After graduating medical school, he completed an internal medicine residency at UMMC and further specialized in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of South Alabama.
 
Dr. Edwards is currently board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in gastroenterology.  His main goal is providing the best quality and up-to-date healthcare to his patients.   His interest includes advance endoscopic procedures, inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett’s esophagus, eosinophilic esophagitis, and colon cancer prevention.  However, he treats a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases.
 
Dr. Edwards currently resides in Santa Rosa Beach, Fl with his wife and two daughters.  He enjoys boating, fishing, and beach days on the beautiful Emerald Coast with his family.
