Dr. Salas earned his medical degree at Universidad de San Martin de Porres in Peru. He then served as a House Medical Officer in the Department of Pediatrics at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Following that, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, PA, and obtained Board certification in Internal Medicine in 2020. He subsequently assumed the role of Internal Medicine Physician at Reading Hospital in West Reading, PA. Dr. Salas graduated from the Hepatology and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Tower Health in Pennsylvania. During his tenure as a Gastroenterology Fellow, he was appointed as an instructor in the Department of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine and participated as a member of the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology. 

Dr. Salas has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, and the Pennsylvania Society of Gastroenterology, among others. 

His clinical interests include hepatobiliary disorders, hereditary gastrointestinal syndromes, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal cancer screening. 

Dr. Salas possesses bilingual proficiency, with fluency in Spanish. 

In his free time, Dr. Salas enjoys playing golf, swimming, traveling, and playing soccer.
