Dr. Grant T. Whittaker was born and raised in Palatka, FL. He graduated cum laude from the University of Florida in Gainesville, with a Bachelor of Science in engineering science and a minor in bio-mechanics. He then earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. Following medical school, Dr. Whittaker returned to the University of Florida and completed his residency in internal medicine and then served as chief resident of internal medicine. Dr. Whittaker then moved to Mobile, Alabama and completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of South Alabama. Dr. Whittaker’s clinical interest include inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis b and hepatitis c, cirrhosis and colon cancer prevention.
