Gastroenterologist

Christopher Navas, MD, is a trained medical internist and gastroenterologist. He sees patients with a myriad of GI issues including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, pancreatic diseases, disorders of the stomach, small and large intestine, gastroesophageal reflux disease and GI motility disorders. His goal as a physician is to establish a quality and caring physician-patient relationship where he strives to understand his patient’s healthcare needs and implement patient directed care.

 

Dr. Navas completed his undergraduate degree in neuroscience from Queens College where his research earned him the City University of New York’s Jonas Salk award and scholarship. He then completed his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School where his commitment to connect with his patients and provide excellent patient care led him to be inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

 

Following medical school Dr. Navas completed both his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Vermont VA Hospital. During his Gastroenterology Fellowship Dr. Navas also worked part-time at a rural underserved critical access community hospital in nearby Vermont where he continued to hone his internal medicine and emergency care skills.

 

In his free time, Dr. Navas enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction books, exercise, nutrition, hiking, sports including golf, hocky and football. Most of all he enjoys spending time with his family.
