The system is used at the physician’s discretion and acts as a second set of eyes by highlighting areas that may contain precancerous polyps. Your physician remains in full control throughout the procedure, and the technology does not change how the colonoscopy is performed.
What Is GI Genius™?
GI Genius™ is an FDA-cleared computer-assisted detection system developed by Medtronic. It analyzes the live video feed during colonoscopy and can place a visual marker on the screen when it identifies an area that may need a closer look.
The technology is designed to support prevention by providing another visual reference point during the procedure. It does not diagnose conditions or replace physician judgment.
How It Works
Analyze
GI Genius™ reviews the real-time colonoscopy video feed frame by frame.
Highlight
If the system detects an area that may contain a polyp, it places a small marker on the monitor.
Physician Review
Your doctor evaluates any highlighted areas and removes polyps as needed. The procedure itself is unchanged.
