Northeast Florida centers honored for high-quality colonoscopy and endoscopy care and superior patient outcomes in national ratings program.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 10, 2026 – U.S. News & World Report has released its inaugural ratings of the nation’s top ambulatory surgery centers, naming four Borland Groover facilities among this year’s high performers in the colonoscopy and endoscopy category. The recognized centers include Orange Park Endoscopy Center, Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy Riverside, Jacksonville Center for Endoscopy Southside and St. Augustine Endoscopy Center.

In 2024, U.S. News launched its first-ever Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers ratings to help patients identify high-quality outpatient surgical care. In its analysis, U.S. News evaluated 2,031 ambulatory surgery centers that perform colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures and reviewed outcomes for more than 3.14 million patients across two procedure types. Only 259 centers earned a High Performing rating, the publication’s highest distinction.

The ratings are based entirely on three years of Medicare patient outcome data, including complication rates, emergency department visits and unplanned hospital admissions. No surveys or self-reported data were used. A High Performing rating indicates that a center consistently demonstrates strong patient safety and favorable clinical outcomes.

“This recognition highlights the strength of our ambulatory platform,” said Jackie Kennedy, Chief Operating Officer for the Ancillary Division. “Our ASC teams work tirelessly to provide safe, efficient and patient-centered care. We are proud to offer trusted outpatient solutions that help patients access the procedures they need close to home.”

Ambulatory surgery centers play an important role in today’s health care system by offering patients convenient access to outpatient procedures in a specialized setting. ASCs typically provide:

  • More efficient scheduling, which can reduce delays and help patients receive procedures sooner
  • Lower overall costs compared with hospital-based surgery for many outpatient procedures
  • Streamlined check-in and discharge processes that support a smoother experience
  • Reduced exposure to hospital-acquired infections, since ASCs care for generally healthier patients in a controlled environment
  • Specialized teams focused on outpatient care, which may support strong safety and quality outcomes
  • Access to high-volume gastrointestinal specialists close to home
These factors can contribute to improved patient comfort and a more predictable care experience.

For gastrointestinal procedures, such as those offered at Borland Groover’s locations, ASCs are designed to deliver care in a focused environment where staff routinely manage high volumes of endoscopy and screening services. These factors can contribute to improved patient comfort and a more predictable care experience.

“We are honored to have four of our ambulatory surgery centers recognized among the best in the nation,” said Dr. Dinesh Madhok, CEO of Borland Groover. “This distinction reflects our ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety and delivering the highest standard of digestive care across every location.”
