Unexplained Weight Loss

Unintentional weight loss can occur when digestive disorders interfere with appetite, nutrient absorption, or normal gastrointestinal function. Patients may also notice nausea, abdominal discomfort, diarrhea, early fullness, or fatigue alongside gradual weight decline.

Although some causes are relatively benign, unexplained weight loss may also signal chronic inflammation, malabsorption, pancreatic disease, liver disorders, or gastrointestinal cancers. Evaluation is often directed toward identifying the underlying condition early and preventing further nutritional decline.
