Dr. Spencer Knox, M.D. specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide array of gastrointestinal diseases. Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Knox obtained a bachelor’s degree with distinction in Psychology at the University of Rochester. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Phi Honor and Service society. While attending medical school, he was on the Dean’s List for strong academic performance.
Dr. Knox completed his Internal Medicine residency training at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando Health’s flagship tertiary referral center. He went on to complete a three-year clinical Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Medical School – Baystate (Springfield, MA). Dr. Knox is experienced in the medical and endoscopic management of esophageal, stomach, small intestinal, colorectal, liver, and pancreatic diseases. He is passionate about colorectal cancer screening and surveillance of precancerous colon polyps. Dr. Knox has been mentored by renowned endoscopists, with Fellowship training in both general and advanced endoscopic techniques and therapeutics.
Moreover, Dr. Spencer Knox prides himself in providing evidence-based, up-to-date medical care for patients seeking evaluation and treatment of gastroenterological disorders. These include, but are not limited to, swallowing difficulties (dysphagia), heartburn (GERD/reflux), peptic ulcer disease, pancreaticobiliary and liver disease, colorectal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) such as UC and Crohn disease, constipation, diarrhea, with a special interest in celiac disease. Dr. Knox believes medical care should be delivered in a caring and understanding bedside manner.
In his free time, Dr. Knox enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. Hobbies include spending time boating, swimming, and traveling to new places. Dr. Knox is happily accepting all new patients.
